Dr. Gidman is a 1973 graduate of LSU Medical School and a 1978 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Orthopedic Program. He completed two fellowships in hand surgery with Dr. Dan Riordan, M.D. in New Orleans, La. and with Dr. Robert Horner, M.D. in Denver, Co. Dr. Gidman has been a Certified Independent Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners since 1996. He also is currently a fellow in the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.  He is also a DOT-FMCSA-certified Medical Examiner.

He is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Louisiana Orthopedic Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society.

Dr. Baniewicz is a 1987 graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He completed a transitional internship at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in 1988 and his residency in internal medicine at Akron General Medical Center in 1990. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians and a master’s degree in bioengineering at the University of Utah.  Dr. Baniewicz is a certified Medical Review Officer, Oil and Gas United Kingdom Specified Examining Doctor, and a DOT-FMCSA-certified Medical Examiner.

He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association, the American College of Physicians, Louisiana State Medical Society, and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society.

Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner

Kirk F. Knecht is a board-certified Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nursing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He began his medical career as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at University Medical Center before attaining his certification as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner.  He remained at University Medical Center under his new position as a nurse practitioner in their busy Emergency Department Walk-in Clinic.

After managing his private practice for awhile, he continued to further his extensive Emergency Medicine experience when he began practicing at the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana Emergency Department. He is certified by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner.  He holds additional certifications from the National Board of Emergency Care Certifications as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider and a Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider.  He is also a DOT-FMCSA-certified Medical Examiner.
